AJ Caywood (Anna) was born and raised in the rolling bluegrass hills of central Kentucky. Her love of reading and writing started at an early age, and she began writing short stories in elementary school. Through her teen years, she read much more than she wrote, voraciously reading as many books as she could get her hands on. Her High School English teacher, Ms. Herdt, nurtured the budding writer in her and gave her the solid encouragement that she needed to believe in herself as a writer. Not long after, she met the love of her life, married, and in the next few years became the mother of two lovely daughters. Reading and writing ended up on the back-burner as she took on the responsibilities of wife and mother.

In the summer of 2000, the writing bug came back with a vengeance, and through the internet, she found a writing group that encouraged her to try out her very rusty writing skills. In 2001 she wrote her first completed screenplay, and after a sending a query letter (solicited through her online screenwriting teacher) to Paramount Studios, her full screenplay was requested to be read. Although she never heard back, the request ignited a literary fire in her heart and soul and in 2002 she began writing her first novel.
